Race Tech Wins 2nd Consecutive AMA Horizon Award
Andre Ochs used his Race Tech G2-R Cartridge Kit and G3-S Custom Series Shock featuring Gold Valve technology to capture the AMA RoadRacing Horizon Award at the legendary Daytona track. Ochs became the second rider in two years to win the most presitgious award for graduating amateur racers aboard Race Tech Suspension. Just one year ago, Jake Lewis took home the honor.
The AMA Horizon Award is presented to the graduating Amateur rider who shows the most promise for a successful professional career. Ochs had a great weekend at Daytona winning the Daytona 600 SuperSport and 600 Superbike classes, and showed that he has a bright future ahead. At this time, Ochs doesn't have a ride for next year; but he plans to take on the AMA circuit against America's finest racers. Race Tech hopes to utilize Andre's talents to continue testing and development.
Andre is excited with the recent accomplishment, "I am thrilled to have received this prestigious award, I couldn't have done it without the help from my parents, Outlaw Racing, and CT Racing (Pirelli Tires) and so many others."
Andre continued about the weekend at Daytona, "I didn't really get any advice on the track at Daytona, so it was up to me to figure it out quickly. My 2009 Yamaha R6 with our Race Tech Suspension handled amazing. I want to thank everyone that supported me this year! I couldn't have done it without (the support)."
"Earning a single AMA Horizon Award during the lifetime of a company is a huge deal, but for us to do it in back to back seasons first with Jake and now with Andre is truly an honor. We look forward to working closely with Andre testing and tuning to help him as he transitions to the AMA Pro Roadracing ranks where he has a bright future ahead. At the same time, we will continue boosting our grass roots support system to find up and coming talent," stated Race Tech's Director of Marketing Chris Riesenberg.
Andre Ochs would like to thank all of his 2012 sponsors for helping him win the AMA Roadracing Horizon Award, including: Outlaw Racing, Race Tech, Dave Anthony at ADR Motorsports, Pirelli Tires - CT Racing, Yamaha Champions Riding School, Nexx Helmets, GE Studios, Flying Racing, and Diablo Racing Products.
Race Tech would like to thank Lenny Albin from Superbike Chassis, LLC. for his help installing and setting up last year's Horizon Award winner Jake Lewis and Anre Ochs this season.
